Fully automatic multi-media filter

1、 Overview:

Mechanical filter (also known asFully automatic multi-media filter）It is a typical multi-media filter with layered smokeless coal, sand, fine garnet or other materials as the bed. The main function is to remove suspended matter and solid particles from water. Suspended solids are non colloidal solid substances that are insoluble in water and can precipitate under suitable conditions. For physical filtration methods, special selection of filtration media is made based on the different water quality of the source water and the requirements of the effluent. Common filtration media include volcanic ash, quartz sand, anthracite, activated carbon, and other contact reaction media.

The top layer of the filter bed is composed of light and coarse grade materials, while heavy and fine grade materials are placed at the lower part of the bed. The principle is to filter by depth - larger particles in the water are removed at the top layer, while smaller particles are removed deeper in the filter medium. Thus, the water quality can reach the standard after coarse filtration.

The equipment is pressure type, and its principle is that when raw water passes through the filter material from top to bottom, suspended solids in the water are intercepted by the surface of the filter layer due to adsorption and mechanical flow resistance; When water flows into the middle of the filter layer, due to the tighter arrangement of sand particles in the filter material layer, there are more opportunities for particles in the water to collide with the sand particles. As a result, flocs, suspended solids, and sand particles in the water adhere to each other, and impurities in the water are trapped in the filter material layer, resulting in clear water quality. The suspended solids in the filtered effluent can be below 5 milligrams per liter.

3、 Characteristics of mechanical filters:

1. Widely used in water treatment processes, it can be used alone, but mostly as a pre filtration for water quality deep treatment (exchange resin, electrodialysis, reverse osmosis)

2. It is a commonly used pre-treatment device for deep water purification, which can be filled with different filter materials according to process requirements

3. The material can be made of fiberglass, A3 steel anti-corrosion or rubber lining, or all stainless steel. There are two types of operation modes: fully automatic and manual. Automatic control adopts automatic controllers and pneumatic and hydraulic valves imported from the United States. It is easy to operate and maintain, and has been widely used in pre-treatment devices of water treatment processes in various industries.
