Before using the tablet press, all oil cups, oil holes, and friction surfaces must be lubricated with oil, and the machine must be run empty to cover all friction surfaces with oil film, extending the service life of the machine.
Before each shift and after each shift adjustment, it is necessary to conduct an empty machine pressure test. After there are no problems, the electric tablet press can be turned on to extend the service life of the mold.
Selection of 3-piece mold: The working end faces of the upper and lower punch of the tablet press mold form the surface shape of the tablet, and the diameter of the middle mold is the diameter of the tablet. The correct selection of tablet type is the * step to the success of tablet pressing die. For example, chewable tablets require high hardness and are easy to chew, so most use beveled flat tablets; For those that require film coating, a shallow concave shape can be chosen. Traditional Chinese medicine tablets require high pressure during compression due to the absence of adhesives and lubricants in their raw materials, and the tablet shape should be shallow and concave. Tablets with high sugar content are best designed with shallow concave or flat shapes. The middle mold can be made of alloy steel or hard alloy. Deep concave die molds are prone to damage and should be used sparingly.
When replacing the mold, if the middle mold cannot be lowered, a stick of the same size as the upper mold can be used to gently knock the middle mold down.
During the tablet pressing process, it is necessary to regularly check the quality of the tablets (tablet weight, hardness, surface smoothness, etc.) and adjust them in a timely manner.
If pressing materials with high mineral and plant fiber content, large diameter, and poor viscosity, low-speed compression should be used. High speed generally does not exceed 25 revolutions per minute. On the contrary, if suppressing particles with good viscosity, fluidity, small particle size, and easy formation, a higher speed can be chosen.
7 Mold storage method: After cleaning, apply a layer of food grade lubricating oil (engine oil, edible oil can be used), put it in a special protective box or die storage box, place it on the rack, indicate the specifications and dimensions, and store it on the rack.
When operating or not operating the tablet press room, seal it with organic glass to prevent contamination.
After daily use, the remaining powder particles should be taken out and wiped clean all parts of the machine. If the downtime is long, the die must be removed and the machine's friction surfaces must be adjusted. Clean the work surface, apply rust proof oil, and cover it with dust-proof clothing; The die should be wiped clean and then immersed in oil for storage.

The granulation process of the ingredients before tablet pressing has a significant impact on tablet pressing. The formulation and granulation of auxiliary materials such as drug ingredients, lubricants, fillers, binders, etc. (including the condition of the powder, particle elasticity, powder particle ratio, moisture content, etc.) directly affect the tablet quantity. And often due to improper granulation of ingredients, it cannot be formed into tablets, and even damages the machine. Therefore, this machine cannot be used to compress semi-solid, moist, or particle free ultra-fine powders into tablets. If it is found during use that the pressure has been adjusted to a considerable level but still cannot be pressed into pieces, or if it is pressed into pieces but appears too loose, layered, fragmented, pitted, or powdery. We should identify the reasons and solve them from aspects such as ingredients. Do not blindly adjust and increase pressure, which may damage the machine. In addition, some medicinal materials may not produce tablets with high hardness, but they have a certain degree of toughness and are not prone to breakage when dropped from a height of 1-1.2 meters. Therefore, it is important to meet the requirements of transportation and storage, rather than solely focusing on hardness, in order to avoid excessive compression pressure and damage to the machine.
