Installation Instructions
1. This machine is packed as a whole and can be moved to a suitable place of use after unpacking. After leveling, it can be used. If the position is fixed, foot screws can be added.
2. Electrical circuits and devices should pay attention to voltage. For those not specified by the user, the voltage should be set at 380 volts. When wiring, attention should be paid to the direction of the motor rotation, which must be in the direction of the arrow on the machine. Do not reverse it. To ensure electrical safety, an effective grounding wire must be installed.
3. This machine should be used indoors in a dry, clean, and well lit environment.
Machine operation:
When operating this machine, open the electrical box door, close the power switch, press the start button, and the power indicator light will slowly increase. The speed will gradually increase. If an emergency stop is needed, press the handle on the handwheel side, and the tablet press will immediately stop running. After the tablet pressing is completed, open the electrical box door and cut off the power supply.

1. Before initial use, carefully read the instruction manual by comparing it with the actual machine before use.
2. This machine can only operate in a certain direction (as indicated by the arrow on the handwheel or protective cover), and cannot be reversed to avoid damaging the components. Special attention should be paid when adjusting the tablet press, and do not neglect it.
3. Belt tension adjustment: Adjust through two adjustment nuts on the electromechanical base plate. Pay attention to locking after adjustment.
4. When using a hand cranked tablet without power, the V-belt should be removed to reduce resistance and wear. But do not remove the large pulley as well, as it also serves as a flywheel to save effort.
5. When electric tablet pressing, the rotating handle on the handwheel must be turned down to avoid injury during operation.
6. Whether manually pressing or electrically pressing, the upper punch rod should be in the raised position before starting. If the upper punching plate is started in the descending position, the middle pressing plate will enter immediately after starting. At this time, due to the low inertia of the machine's speed not yet rising, it is easy to cause the top of the car. After the upper punch enters the middle mold, it "freezes" due to the resistance of the pills, causing the machine to stop running. During the topping process, due to the high load, the machine is often damaged or the motor is burned out.
7. Handling methods after topping up the car
⑴ In case of top up during electric tablet pressing, the power should be immediately turned off to avoid burning the motor.
When the situation of the top car is relatively light, the hand wheel can be turned by hand to make the upward punch pass through the "dead point" (but cannot be reversed to avoid repeated feeding of the feeder, causing more serious top car).
When the car is severely blocked, loosen the connecting rod lock nut, turn the upper punch rod to raise it to reduce pressure, and then turn the handwheel to push the pill out. Then readjust the hardness of the pills.
8. During the tablet pressing process, it is necessary to regularly check the quality of the tablets (tablet weight, hardness, surface smoothness, etc.) and adjust them in a timely manner
9. The granulation process of ingredients before tablet pressing has a significant impact on tablet pressing. The formulation and granulation of auxiliary materials such as drug ingredients, lubricants, fillers, binders, etc. (including the condition of the powder, particle elasticity, powder particle ratio, moisture content, etc.) directly affect the tablet quantity. And often due to improper granulation of ingredients, it cannot be formed into tablets, and even damages the machine. Therefore, this machine cannot be used to compress semi-solid, moist, or particle free ultra-fine powders into tablets. If it is found during use that the pressure has been adjusted to a considerable level but still cannot be pressed into pieces, or if it is pressed into pieces but appears too loose, layered, fragmented, pitted, or powdery. We should identify the reasons and solve them from aspects such as ingredients. Do not blindly adjust and increase pressure, which may damage the machine. In addition, some medicinal materials may not produce tablets with high hardness, but they have a certain degree of toughness and are not prone to breakage when dropped from a height of 1-1.2 meters. Therefore, it is important to meet the requirements of transportation and storage, rather than solely focusing on hardness, in order to avoid excessive compression pressure and damage to the machine.

The three major elements of the tablet pressing process

a. Good fluidity: enables smooth powder operations such as flow and filling, reducing differences in particle weight;
b. Good compression formability: no adverse phenomena such as cracking occur;
c. Good lubricity: The tablet is non stick and produces a complete and smooth tablet. Most drugs need to be granulated before compression to meet the requirements of the manufacturing process, such as improving the flowability and filling properties of the material to ensure the uniformity of dosage. On the other hand, it can greatly improve the compression formability, that is, the adhesive is evenly distributed on the surface of the particles to change the bonding force between particles and change the viscoelasticity of the material. In addition, an appropriate amount of water content in the material is beneficial for forming; The flow aid added to the prescription, such as micro silica gel, can improve compressibility; Lubricants, although reducing the strength of tablets, can also reduce fragmentation.
Simplifying the process is one of the important measures for GMP standardization management. Although the process of direct powder compression is simple, its application is limited due to the tendency of powder compression to fragment, poor flowability, and significant differences in tablet weight. However, in recent years, with the development of functional new excipients and the application of modern equipment, direct powder compression has become one of the hotspots in pharmaceutical research.

Possible issues that may occur during the compression process
(1) Pine slice
The phenomenon of tablets becoming loose into powder due to insufficient hardness and vibration is called loose tablets.
Inspection method: Place the tablet between the middle and index fingers, and gently press it with the thumb to see if it breaks.
Causes: Insufficient pressure, insufficient adhesive viscosity, or insufficient dosage.
Solution: Adjust the pressure, add appropriate adhesive, etc.
(2) Fragmented fragments
The phenomenon of a tablet cracking from the waist or shedding a layer from the top after being subjected to vibration or placed is called fragmentation.
Inspection method: Take several pieces and shake them in a small bottle, which should not produce any fragments; Or take 20-30 pieces and place them in your palm, with both hands together, shake vigorously several times, and check for any cracks.
Causes: uneven recovery of tablet elasticity and pressure distribution, improper selection or insufficient amount of adhesive, excessive fine powder, excessive pressure, inconsistent punch and die ring, etc.
Solution: Replace the auxiliary material with low elasticity and high plasticity, choose a suitable adhesive or increase the dosage, adjust the pressure, and replace the punch or die ring.
(3) Adhesive flushing
The phenomenon where a thin layer or a small part of the surface of a tablet is removed by a punch, resulting in a rough, uneven or concave surface, is called adhesive punching. Punches engraved with text or horizontal lines are more prone to sticking and punching.
Causes: Excessive moisture content, improper lubricant action, rough punch surface, and high humidity in the workplace.
Solution: Control the moisture content, choose appropriate lubricants or increase the amount, replace the punch, control the relative humidity of the environment, etc.
(4) Delayed disintegration
Tablets that exceed the disintegration time limit specified in the pharmacopoeia are referred to as delayed disintegration.
Causes: Improper use of disintegrants, excessive use of hydrophobic lubricants, strong or excessive adhesive viscosity, excessive pressure, and high tablet hardness.
Solution: Increase the amount of disintegrant appropriately, reduce the amount of hydrophobic lubricant or switch to hydrophilic lubricant, select appropriate adhesive and its amount, adjust pressure, etc.
(5) Weight difference exceeds the limit
Tablets exceeding the allowable range of tablet weight difference specified in the pharmacopoeia are referred to as tablet weight difference exceeding the limit.
Causes: Uneven particle size, poor flowability, inflexible downward flushing and lifting, and insufficient loading in the feeding hopper.
Solution: Control the particle size evenly, replace the down punch, and maintain the filling capacity of the feeding hopper between 1/3-2/3.
(6) Discoloration or color spots
Refers to the color change or appearance of uneven spots on the surface of the tablet, resulting in an appearance that does not meet the requirements.
Causes: hard particles, uneven mixing, contact with metal ions, contamination of oil stains from tablet presses, etc.
Solution: Control particle hardness, mix raw materials evenly, avoid contact with metal containers, and prevent oil stains on the tablet press.
(7) Ma Dian
There are many small pits on the surface of the tablet.
Causes: Improper use of lubricants and adhesives, moisture absorption of particles, uneven particle size, excessive amount of coarse or fine powder, rough or deeply engraved punch surface, sharp edges, and abnormal machine heating.
Solution: Choose appropriate lubricants and adhesives and their dosage to prevent particles from getting damp, control particle size evenly, replace the punch, and avoid abnormal heating of the machine
