1. The laboratory should be located in the outpatient building and should form its own area. The laboratory area of a tertiary hospital should not be less than 1200 square meters, and the laboratory area of a secondary hospital should not be less than 800 square meters. If the laboratory also undertakes a lot of scientific research and teaching tasks, the area should be appropriately increased.

2The layout of the laboratory should be able to clearly distinguish between clean areas, semi contaminated areas, and contaminated areas, with partitions between each area. The clean area mainly consists of changing rooms, offices, etc., the semi contaminated area mainly consists of auxiliary functional rooms such as reagent storage and water production rooms, and the contaminated area mainly consists of blood collection rooms and testing laboratories.

3The laboratory should separate personnel flow, and personnel and items should have independent entrances and exits, especially for waste, which should be sent to the hospital's centralized medical waste storage point through the hospital's sewage elevator. It is not allowed to use the hospital's passenger elevator.

4. To ensure the safety of testing work, the biosafety laboratory should comply with the requirements of BSL-2 level laboratory. Non manual hand washing devices and emergency eye washing devices should be installed at the exit of the biosafety laboratory, and some high pollution risk work should be carried out in the safety cabinet.

IIClean decoration requirements

1. The wall panels and ceiling materials are required to be easy to clean and disinfect, resistant to scrubbing, dust-free, non cracking, smooth and waterproof. The commonly used material is double-sided sandwich color steel plate, with a fire rating not lower than flame retardant B1 level.

The ground material requires seamless anti slip and corrosion-resistant flooring. The commonly used decorative materials are PVC or rubber flooring, and the joints of the paving need to be welded and leveled with the same color welding rod.

3. Laboratory requirements for doors: They should be able to close automatically, and observation windows should be installed on the doors. They should be equipped with door locks and closers, and a working status indicator light can be installed on the door head to indicate whether there are people working in the laboratory.

4The junction between the walls of the laboratory, the junction between the walls and the ground, and the junction between the walls and the ceiling should all be treated with arcs. The joints of the color steel plates should be sealed with sealant to ensure the airtightness of the laboratory. The height of the laboratory ceiling should be 2.6m, and no manholes or equipment maintenance holes should be opened on the main laboratory ceiling.

IIIVentilation and air conditioning engineering

1Purification laboratories should avoid the situation where multiple laboratories share the same air conditioning unit. A separate air conditioning unit can effectively avoid cross contamination and save operating costs.

2The exhaust fan in the laboratory should be interlocked with the supply fan. The exhaust fan should be turned on before the supply fan and then turned off. The indoor exhaust duct and the exhaust duct of equipment such as biosafety cabinets should be set separately.

3The air supply and exhaust in the purification room should be carried out in an upward and downward manner. The arrangement of indoor air supply and exhaust outlets should minimize the space where indoor airflow stagnates.

4A pressure difference of no less than 5Pa should be maintained between different areas in the laboratory to ensure that the airflow flows from the clean area to the contaminated area. A pressure difference gauge should be installed in an easily observable location.

4Water supply, drainage and gas supply engineering

1. Water supply system

The exit of the laboratory should be equipped with a hand washing device, which should use a non manual faucet. The biosafety laboratory recommends equipping the testing area with an automatic hand disinfection device and ensuring that the water supply materials meet relevant national requirements.

2. Drainage system

Floor drains should not be installed in clean laboratories, and laboratory drainage should be separated from living area drainage. It should be ensured that laboratory drainage enters the hospital sewage treatment plant.

3. Pure water system

The main equipment used for pure water in the laboratory is the biochemical analyzer. Before designing the laboratory's pure water system, it is necessary to communicate with the laboratory manager about the water usage points and the amount of water used at each point.

5Laboratory supporting furniture

1. Laboratory furniture can be divided into three categories based on the materials used: all steel furniture, steel wood furniture, and all wood furniture. All steel furniture has a beautiful appearance but is relatively expensive, while steel wood furniture has a moderate physique. Due to its drawbacks in load-bearing and waterproofing, few people choose all wood furniture. Therefore, suitable furniture should be selected based on the hospital's budget.
