Microbiology LaboratoryConstruction requirements:
1、 Enclosure structure
1)Microbiology LaboratoryThe inner surface of the enclosure structure (including buffer rooms) must be smooth, corrosion-resistant, waterproof, and easy to disinfect and clean. All gaps must be reliably sealed.
2) All doors in the laboratory can be automatically closed.
3) No windows shall be installed except for observation windows. The observation window must be a sealed structure, and the glass used must be non shattering glass.
4) The ground should be leak free, smooth but not slippery. Floor tiles and terrazzo with gaps are not allowed to be used.
5) The intersection angles between the ceiling, floor, and walls are all arc-shaped and reliably sealed. During construction, insects and mice should be prevented from entering the bottom of the wall.
2、 Ventilation and air conditioning
1) An independent ventilation and air conditioning system must be installed to control the direction of laboratory airflow and pressure gradient. The system must ensure that when the laboratory is in use, indoor air must not be discharged from other parts or gaps of the laboratory to the outside, except for being efficiently filtered and discharged through exhaust ducts; At the same time, ensure that the airflow in the laboratory flows from the "clean" area to the "contaminated" area. The layout of the air inlet and outlet should minimize dead space within the experimental area.
2) The ventilation and air conditioning system is a direct exhaust system, and partial return air systems are not allowed.
3) Environmental parameters: Maintain negative pressure inside the laboratory relative to the outside. The relative pressure between the experimental rooms should be -30Pa to -40Pa, and the relative pressure between the buffer rooms should be -15Pa to -20Pa. The temperature and humidity in the laboratory should be controlled within a comfortable range for the human body or determined according to process requirements. The air cleanliness in the laboratory should be at level seven to eight as defined in GB 50073-2001 "Code for Design of Cleanrooms". The artificial lighting in the laboratory should be uniform, not dazzling, and the illuminance should not be lower than 500lx.
4) To ensure that the airflow in the laboratory flows from the "clean" area to the "polluted" area, a layout of evenly distributed exhaust outlets on both sides should not be used in the laboratory. The ventilation design of top-down and top-down should not be adopted. The air discharged from the biosafety cabinet through internal high-efficiency filtration can be directly discharged into the atmosphere through the system's exhaust pipe or sent into the building's exhaust system. The pressure balance between the biosafety cabinet and the exhaust system should be ensured.
5) The inlet air of the laboratory should be filtered through three stages: primary, intermediate, and high-efficiency.
6) The exhaust of the laboratory must be efficiently filtered or treated by other methods before being directly discharged into the air at a speed of not less than 12m/s. The exhaust outlet should be located away from the system inlet position. The processed exhaust can also be discharged into the building's exhaust duct, but it must not be sent back to any part of the building.
7) The high-efficiency filters for air intake and exhaust must be installed in the air vents located on the enclosure structure of the laboratory to avoid contaminating the air ducts.
8) In the ventilation system of the laboratory, airtight regulating valves should be installed at the inlet and outlet ducts, which can be closed if necessary for indoor chemical fumigation disinfection.
9) All components used in the ventilation system of the laboratory must be airtight. The high-efficiency filter used shall not be a wooden frame.
10) An automatic interlocking device should be installed to start the fan, ensuring that the exhaust fan is turned on first and then the supply fan is turned on when starting the laboratory. When shutting down, first turn off the supply fan and then turn off the exhaust fan.
11) It is not allowed to install split air conditioners in the laboratory.
