OX-TRAN 2/22 Series - Single Battery

The OX-TRAN 2/22 series 1 unit high-performance analyzer can test the oxygen permeability (OTR) of films and packaging with low to moderate barrier properties. These low-cost analyzers for packaging and film are easy to use and provide short testing times on the market. They have a replaceable horizontal testing box that can easily and accurately test various sample sizes and types.

The 2/22 series uses MOCON's COUPOX absolute (intrinsic) coulombic sensor, which does not require calibration and is the basis of ASTM standardsD3985It is an instrument series that has been independently tested and proven to meet accuracy and bias requirements by a third party.

Standard Test Method for Measuring the Transmittance of Oxygen through Plastic Films and Sheets Using Coulombic Sensors

The test sample is installed as a half barrier between two chambers at ambient atmospheric pressure. One chamber is slowly purged with nitrogen gas flow, while the other chamber contains oxygen. When oxygen passes through the membrane and enters the nitrogen carrier gas, it is transported to the Coulomb detector, where an electric current is generated. The magnitude of the current is proportional to the amount of oxygen flowing into the detector per unit time.
