OX-TRAN 2/48 series packaging
The OX-TRAN 2/48 series oxygen permeability (OTR) analyzer is designed for testing whole packages or other three-dimensional samples in the environment. These 8-chamber instruments provide high throughput and can enhance the testing capabilities of your laboratory. The dual row design allows for adjustment of 4 samples while testing them. This parallel operation greatly improves the efficiency of the analyzer, while also providing MOCON accurate and reproducible results that meet your requirements. They adopt the same interchangeable packaging test chamber design as our other packaging test analyzers and fixtures. These breakthrough test chambers simplify the sample preparation process and improve the reproducibility of test results. There are various test chamber designs to choose from, which can accommodate different packaging sizes and types, and many test chambers do not even require the use of epoxy resin.
Efficient packaging testing
Parallel regulation and testing chambers have improved throughput
The automatic adjustment cycle shortens the time required to prepare test samples
High flow blowing cycle is more than 20 times faster than traditional methods
● Simple and safe installation of one click pneumatic testing cabin
The easy-to-use packaging test chamber saves time in preparing samples
The fast response Coulox sensor reduces testing time
Trustworthy results
Coulox from MOCON ® The sensor measures absolute values and does not require calibration
The Coulomb meter sensor has a long service life and comes with a 4-year warranty
The intrinsic sensor complies with ASTM D 3985 standard
Integrated TruSeal to lower the background level to a lower level, resulting in more accurate results
Adjust and test the automatic flow rate and relative humidity control of the chamber carrier gas
The OX-TRAN 2/48 analyzer can test the oxygen permeability (OTR) of high and low barrier membranes and packaging.
The simple user interface with automatic control function makes testing very easy, requiring minimal training. In some applications, starting a new test only requires pressing a button after loading the sample. Common testing methods can be stored and called for reuse. For new or unknown sample types, the automatic testing function will automatically adjust the testing parameters to provide optimized test results, and users do not need to have packaging experience.
Various test chambers can be used to test trays, bottles, soft containers, small bags, cups, laundry beads, bottle caps, seals, paper boxes, films, and almost any other type of three-dimensional samples. We also offer custom designed test chambers that simplify sample preparation and improve the reproducibility of testing.
Model:
This series of instruments has two models with different detection limits.
H-type (common barrier material) - detection range from 0.00025 to 1 cc/pkg * day
L-type (high barrier material) - capable of achieving a detection limit 10 times lower than H-type, with a detection range of 0.000025 to 1 cc/pkg * day
For over 25 years, the MOCON OX-TRAN series instruments have been reliable and durable in the market. The OX-TRAN 2/48 series is the latest product that takes whole package testing to a whole new level, enabling brand owners and packaging service providers to reliably test their finished packaging. It is very suitable for any testing laboratory that frequently tests whole packages or other 3D samples.

Install the test sample as a semi barrier material between two chambers under ambient atmospheric pressure. One chamber is slowly purged with nitrogen gas flow, while the other chamber contains oxygen. When oxygen permeates through the membrane into the nitrogen carrier gas, it will be transported to the coulomb detector, where a current is generated that is proportional to the amount of oxygen entering the detector per unit time.
